LCO Vocational Rehabilitation

The LCO Vocational Rehabilitation Services Project is an Education and Training Area program that offers vocational rehabilitation services to American Indians with disabilities. The goal of the Project is to assist people with disabilities to find/or maintain employment.

Vocational rehabilitation includes an array of services funded by a grant from the U. S. Department of Education, Rehabilitation Services Administration, in cooperation with the State of Wisconsin Division of Vocational Rehabilitation.

To supplement the services provided by the state Vocational Rehabilitation agencies, Section 121 of the Rehabilitation Services Act was created to promote and provide funding of vocational rehabilitation services for Alaska Natives and American Indians with disabilities. Existence of an American Indian Vocational Rehabilitation Program does not relieve the state of its responsibility to provide necessary services to this population.
